Getting Out and About

One of the fantastic benefits of lockdown has been the motivation to get outside and enjoy some much needed fresh air! We have taken advantage of the beautiful area we are in and are finding lots of new routes to go for walks in our sessions.

It has been a great excuse for dusting off the bicycle or grabbing the walking boots to head out and explore. For many of the students it has also reignited a love of being outdoors and it has been a reminder of just how chaotic life could be just a few months ago. Going on walks has also been vital to maintain social interaction and to make sure that skills aren’t lost and the risk of feeling isolated is kept at bay. Whilst it is incredible what technology has enabled us to do and programmes such as Zoom have kept us in contact, particularly for our students, face-to-face contact is extremely important. We have been particularly lucky with the weather which has also encouraged more people to go out and enjoy the sunshine!
